Ok so among other interesting foods of Japan is Northern Japan's amazing Nato. It is made from fermented soy beans and is sometimes served with rice and some toppings for breakfast as well as lunch or dinner. It is very healthy and is an excellent source of protein. You either love or loath its snot like texture and puke like smell and taste. Frome these photos you will guess that, yes, I hold to the later thought of loathing.
