The Cabin
So one of the founding families of MeySen has a cabin about 45 minutes from Sendai. It overlooks the pacific. A few weeks ago we ventured to it and had a blast. There was about a dozen immersion teachers hanging out it a full sized house, more than a "cabin." We played games, took walks, slept out under the stars and ate food! The trips down to the coast were fun. Becky and I got too close and were nearly soaked. Here are a few pictures. I hope you enjoy.

Around the Apartment
If you wanted to know what I do all day well...sorry to say but not too much. I don't work till the aftenoon so I have a free morning and night.I take walks, go on bike adventures, do dishes, read, and most recently paint. My friend Jo is lending me her guitar off and on so that may come of something. I am trying to avoid TV and movies unless hanging out with people. So here are some pics of daily life and my new fav hoodie. Have a gander!
Bunnies and chicks
This weekend I hung out with the ladies or as some call them chicks. We went shopping, watched a movie, and chatted. By far the cutest tidbit of our time (other than becky's new boots) was Hope's new friends. She asked for and recieved 2 little bunnies just weened from their mom who is one of the rabbits of MeySen. Although Hope will not get to keep the fuzz balls, she gets to enjoy them until they are old enough to bread little thumpers of their own. So enjoy the little darlings in these photos. Next bunch of bunnies that are born I'm asking for, thats for sure!

MeySen and Jamboree
So every year MeySen has a tradition of celebrating Jamboree where kids and adults alike dress up for games, prizes, and fun festivities. Here are some pictures of Me the Lady Pirate with cute kiddos and other curiosities. Also there is a video of what MeySen Immersion Kindergarden classes look and sound like during the day. I work in the evenings with the older students so these are not my kids. You can hear and see the stations the children work through each day and see the indoor facilities a bit. Hope you enjoy!

Matsushima Race
We traveled outside of Sendai to the sea area of Matsushima to watch our coworkers run a 21kilometer race. The goal was to get to the finish line within 2 hours and 30 minutes. If you don't make it in that time they block off the finish line and direct you off to the side within like 20 yards of finishing. If your super slow (I would be in this catagory if I ran)they either pick you up at the 10 k mark (b/c they estimate you not finishing on time), or they pick you up on the slow bus as it drives around. Well we had some who finished, some who "finished", and some that got picked up. While our 8 coworkers were running their hearts out a few of us found a nice park to lounge in and wandered down to the pacific for a restful walk. Here are some pictures and videos of the events, oddities, and landscapes. Sorry one of the videos is on hre twice
