Cemetary

I went to a cemetary today. It had a large bell in the front that some people rang on their way out of the grounds. Many people brought flowers, beverages, and some food to place at the graves. A large ornate building was set at the center of the cemetary. I saw a couple go in, but I felt like an ntruder and stayed clear. It the entrance of the cemetary, there were sheds of cleaning supplies that people could use to clean off the graves. Several pations had brought their children along. only afew people were visibly mourning. It was a very sobering atmosphere. The worship and esteem of ancestors is very alive in Japan. I wish we would respect our elders more.
